Ogun Popular Foundation Graduates 28 Persons In Skill Acquisition, Gives Out Cash, Tools

A non- Governmental Organization, Kings and Queens Cares Foundation which is situated in Abeokuta North Local Government area of Ogun state on Wednesday graduated 28 persons who have undergone a 3-month skill acquisition programme.

The 2nd Sets Graduation Ceremony and matriculation of fresh intakes was watched by residents of the state and many dignitaries within and outside the State.

28 students who enrolled for the programme, successfully completed the programme in fashion designing, decoration and event management, computer appreciation, catering, hairdressing, chemical products, adult literacy and newly included make-up & head gear.

At the end of the program, some of the graduands recieved cash and free equipment.

The founder of the foundation, Hon. Idowu Olatunji Oloyede said that the free skill acquisition programme was designed to empower youths and adults of various backgrounds.

Olatunji While presenting the graduands certificates urged them not to despise the days of humble beginning.

He maintained that one of the major paths to national development is through skills acquisition.

The founder called on the graduands to embrace the option, noting that the era of dependence on certificates have gone; “emphasis now is on what one could do with one’s hands

The chairman of Abeokuta North Local Government, Hon. Ayorinde commended the organiser of the program, describing the program as a welcomed development in the state.

He urged the graduands to tap into the opportunity and become a model of financial independence in their communities.

Also the special adviser to governor Abiodun on rural development, who is also the Chairperson of the day, Hon. Olapeju Shote urged the graduands to join government in reducing unemployment by making judicious use of the vocational training received to create more jobs for teeming Nigerians.

While congratulating the graduands for their resilience and successful completion of the training, Shote maintained that they had been adequately trained and tutored on how to confront challenges and be a robust entrepreneur solving problems of unemployment all around them and adding great value to the society.

Shote put smiles on the faces of some of the graduands by giving them free equipment, cash and recommendation letters.

The chairman of the day, Hon. Segun Kaka equally appealed to the graduands to always be good ambassadors of Ogun State and the skills acquisition programme wherever they find themselves.

Also the commissioner for rural development in the state, Hon. Taiwo Oludotun, (Twinny) appealed to the graduands to use the opportunity the programme offers and invest in themselves with the start-up capital and equipment that would be given to them.

Hon. Moruf Erubami who was made the Co- Patron of the organization implored the graduands to be magnanimous with their experience by training other people.

The deputy leader of the legislative house, Hon. Adebari and some others recieved leadership awards for their contribution towards youth empowerment.

Some of the graduands while speaking with our correspondent described their experience during the training as worthwhile and value-oriented, and pledged to make profitable use of the lessons of the programme.
