The Ololade Rabiu Foundation has declared its full support for the All Progressives Congress, APC, ahead of the forthcoming elections, expressing confidence that the party will secure victory in all elective positions in Ijebu North East Local Government.
The founder of the foundation, Hon. Ololade Rabiu, stated this while speaking on the foundation’s activities and its political support ahead of the elections.
Rabiu said the foundation decided to support the APC because of its desire to strengthen the connection between the people of Ijebu North East and government, noting that government alone cannot meet all the needs of the people.
He said the foundation had, over the past three years, been complementing government efforts through various interventions targeted at vulnerable groups and residents of the local government.
According to him, the foundation has provided food items and cash empowerment for aged citizens, supported students through educational empowerment programmes, empowered youths and contributed to community development projects, including the provision of streetlights along Imowo Road.
Rabiu said the initiatives were aimed at improving the wellbeing of residents and supporting government’s development efforts in Ijebu North East.
He disclosed that the foundation would support all APC candidates, including President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the Ogun State governorship candidate, Senator Olamilekan Adeola, popularly known as Yayi, the Ogun East Senatorial candidate, Prince Dapo Abiodun, the House of Representatives candidate, Hon. Rasaq Dahhad, and the Ijebu North East House of Assembly candidate, Oluwaseun Oretuga.
He, however, said the foundation had resolved to give special support to Oretuga, describing him as a candidate who understands the needs of the local government, lives within the area and operates a business there.
Rabiu said these qualities, coupled with Oretuga’s understanding of the people and the local government, make him suitable to represent their interests.
He urged residents of Ijebu North East to come out in large numbers during the elections and vote for all APC candidates, expressing optimism that the party would emerge victorious across all elective positions.
The foundation also called on the people to remain committed to peaceful and credible elections while exercising their civic responsibilities.
