The Chairman, Hon. Wale Bama Oyekoya; the State Executive Council; Directorates; and the entire members of the Ogun State Government Consultants Forum received with profound sadness and heavy hearts the news of the passing of the legendary actor and cultural icon, Alhaji Taiwo Hassan, popularly known as Ogogo, a proud son of Ilaro, Yewa South Local Government Area of Ogun State.
His death is a painful loss to his family, Ilaro, Yewa, Ogun State, the Yoruba entertainment industry, and Nigeria at large. Ogogo was not merely an accomplished actor; he was a gifted storyteller, cultural ambassador, and one of the distinguished personalities who used his talent to promote Yoruba heritage and Nigerian cinema.
Through his remarkable performances, humility and decades of dedication to the creative industry, he earned a special place in the hearts of millions. His departure has undoubtedly created a painful void, but his immense legacy will continue to live through the generations he inspired.
The Glorious Qur’an reminds us: “Every soul will taste death. Then to Us you will be returned.”— Qur’an 29:57.
As we mourn this great son of Ilaro and Yewa, we extend our heartfelt condolences to his family, loved ones, colleagues, and the entire Yoruba and Nigerian creative community.
May Almighty Allah forgive his shortcomings, accept his good deeds, grant him Al-Jannatul Firdaus, and give his family the strength and fortitude to bear this irreparable loss.
Ogogo has taken his final bow, but his legacy will forever remain on the stage of our hearts.
May his soul rest in perfect peace. Ameen.
