Yetunde Adeniyi, a Princess from the royal dynasty of Elefire of Efire in Ogun Waterside local government area of Ogun state is an International Relation studies graduate of Obafemi Awolowo University. Few years back, she ventured into hospitality business with the establishment of Thandy Charcoal & Spice located on Ejinrin road in Ijebu Ode.
She spoke with Gateway Times Nigeria Abimbola Lawal on the success story, challenges and other sundry issues. Excerpts.
Can we get to know you?
My name is Adeniyi Yetunde,I attended Emmanuel private school ijebu ife Ogun state. For my primary education, I attended Our Lady of Apostle secondary school ijebu ode Ogun state. I later proceeded to Obafemi Awolowo University, OAU Ile-Ife where I studied International Relations.
Can you tell us more about what you do and how long you’ve been in the business?
We don’t cook but we grill chicken barbeque, fish barbeque. I started the business about 3 years ago.
Can you tell us the success story of the business?
We thank God, things are going well.
At the beginning it was a big tough marketing this type of stuff to people but gradually things start getting better, now we thank God we have convince people to eat more of grilled chicken, grilled fish instead of buying fried stuff.
What are the challenges you are facing in the business?
The major challenge is security because usually in the night people don’t want to come out because of security issue, that’s the major challenge we have right now.
Where do you see yourself and the business in the next few years?
I see myself having a big lounge where people can come in to eat grilled stuffs after work, a very big lounge.
Your advice to others that are willing to venture into what you do?
I will advise them that it a good business but you just have to be consistent with it and have passion for it because if you have passion for it, you will make it quickly.
