Islamic New Year: NASFAT Ogun Zone 2 Urges Muslims To Imbibe Lessons, Promote Peace
Members of NASFAT in Ogun Zone 2 which comprises of 21 Branches and Groups marked the beginning of the new year of Islamic Calendar today being Muharram 2nd, 1444 A. H., with NASFAT National Education Secretary in attendance.
All members of NASFAT Ogun Zone 2 converged in Iperu Branch of the Society today, Sunday 31st July, 2022, to mark the beginning of the new year in a grande style.
The Zonal Chairman, ALHAJI (ENGR.) NURUDEEN A. OSHINAIKE, while speaking at the Programme, charged members to imbibe the lessons of Hijirah and continue to promote peace at every opportunity they have. He added that upholding mutual respect for all will aid the sustenance of peace in our community.
Representing the National Executive Council of the Society, the National Education Secretary, Alhaja (Prof.) Busurat Adekola urged members to continue to live in peace and harmony and shun divisive tendencies.
She implored every member present to continue to key into the H.E.L.D agenda of the current NEC and also contribute in the development of Fountain University, Oshogbo both in cash and population drive.
Prof. Adekola said: “NASFAT Schools must always be amongst the best in standard and morals. This is why quality assurance team will start visiting all our schools for better performance.”
While delivering his Lecture on morals and spiritual lessons of Hijirah; its application in our contemporary society, the guest lecturer of the day, FADH. SHEIKH IMAM MUHD. GIYATH SHITTU, lead Missionary for NASFAT Aiyepe Branch, made it known that society can never be better if every family is not.
He charged every member to rededicate themselves towards working with Allah SWT in all doings, uphold tolerance and always spread confirm and genuine Information. He said these are what will make our society better.
Meanwhile, the Zonal Missionary of Ogun Zone 2, FADH. SHEIKH ALH. IMAM SALMAN WAKEEL prayed for all members of NASFAT within the zone and in every locations of the Society both within Nigeria and outside for prosperity and greater achievements in this new year. He made it known that any Muslim that promotes violence and hate does not preach Islamic ethics.
In his words, the zonal Missionary, said: “Let’s reflect on the significance of the celebration and abandon all our bad habits and rededicate ourselves to the service of Allah.”
“Muslims all over the world mark the first of Muharram signalling the beginning of another year in the Islamic calendar.”
“The programme is mainly to sensitise the ummah on the importance of Hijrah Calendar. And to support this, a rally was staged round the town of Iperu in Ogun State and the ending of the rally was at the house of the Chief Imam of Iperu-Remo who prayed for all Muslims and in particular, NASFAT as a whole.
The chief Imam made it known that if we do imbibe the teachings of hijirah, the whole world will be peaceful and be an abode of joy for all inhabitants.
This Programme marked the first joint Programme for all branches and groups within NASFAT Ogun Zone 2 since her creation in June this year. And members present applauded the Zonal Executive Council for putting this colourful Programme together.
