Kashamu’s Son, Nephew Win House of Assembly, Reps Tickets In Ogun

The duo of late Senator Buruji Kashamu’s son and nephew, Rasheed Kashamu and Taiwo Shote respectively have emerged as candidates of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) State House of Assembly and House of Representatives in Ijebu North state constituency 1 (Ijebu Igbo) and Ijebu Ode/Ijebu North East and Odogbolu Federal Constituency.

Rasheed, who clinched the party’s ticket unopposed, was declared winner of the PDP State assembly primary election, held in Ijebu Igbo on Sunday, 22nd of May, 2022.

Speaking shortly after the election, the junior Kashamu said he was elated with the victory, extending his sincere appreciation to the leaders, elders, ward executives and delegates of the party for finding him worthy of their mandate.

Shote, on the other hand, emerged after he defeated his counterparts; Hon. Temitope and Hon. Ogayemi. Shote polled 100 out of the possible 107 votes while Ogayemi and Temitope polled four and two votes respectively, with one voided vote.

In his remarks, Shote thanked the leaders, elders, local, government ward executives, delegates and the entire members of the party in the federal constituency for their massive support which gave him the landslide victory. He promised to deliver an impactful, people-based and excellent representation, if given the needed support to emerge at the general election.

He equally thanked his fellow aspirants whom he described as his “partners in progress” for accepting the outcome of the primary election.
