2023: PDP Endorses Prominent Philanthropist, Kenny Bello For House of Representatives

A prominent philanthropist and chieftain of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ogun State, Kenny Bello has on Sunday 9th April, 2022 received endorsement from the leadership of PDP Ijebu East and Ogun Waterside chapters, to vie for the 2023 House of Representatives seat representing Ijebu North/Ijebu East/Ogun Waterside Federal Constituency in the Green Chamber of the National Assembly Abuja.

The official endorsement took place at the Ogun Waterside PDP local government secretariat in Abigi.

Kenny Bello had scheduled a familiarization visit to all the party leaders, ward party executives and local government executive members who were prospective delegates in the forthcoming party primary election, to seek their support and votes as well.

At the event, a foremost PDP leader in Ogun Waterside LG who is also a former council chairman, Otunba Tayo Ajayi had earlier expressed his displeasure over the multiple aspirants from Ijebu East LG jostling for the 2023 House of Representatives seat.

He said further that the leadership of PDP Ijebu East LG should have brought forward a sole candidate out of those aspiring from the the local government area, in order to have the chance of getting the House of Representatives ticket from the two aspirants coming out from Ijebu North LG.

The former council boss spoke extensively on the cordial relationship that has been in existence between the two local government areas before Ogun Waterside LG was carved out of the Old Ijebu East LG and thereafter.

He stressed that Ogun Waterside will always support its twin local government Ijebu East in all ramifications.

Thereafter, Hon Akeem Salami a former Ogun State House of Assembly (OGHA) member in the sixth republic and a foremost leader in PDP Ijebu East LG spoke on behalf of others leaders from the local government that their purpose on the journey embarked to Ogun Waterside on that fateful day is to present Kenny Bello as the sole candidate from Ijebu East, as someone who has the ability and capacity to win the general elections for the Peoples Democratic Party.

Unarguably, the House of Representatives seat is being rotated among the three local government areas that made up the Ijebu North/Ijebu East/Ogun Waterside Federal Constituency, but the two aspirants jostling from Ijebu North have remained adarmant to pursue a third term agenda for the incumbent House of Representatives member or perhaps a tenure elongation for another aspirant from Ijebu North local government area.

Chief Adebanjo the Ogun Waterside LG PDP Chairman welcomed the maturity stance of PDP Ijebu East LG leadership for presenting a formidable candidate to them to support.
He further acknowledged the kind hearted and generosity nature of Kenny Bello to the party at the state level, the three local government areas that made up the federal constituency and individual party members, whose the House of representatives hopeful has touched their lives positively.

The PDP Ogun Waterside LG party chairman on behalf of other leaders in the local government area promised bulk votes for the sole candidate among other aspirants jostling for the seat in the forthcoming party primary election.

Kenny Bello in his speech clarified that his mission in politics and governance goes beyond becoming a House of Representatives member. He said that he was still having a long way to go in politics, therefore he would not joke with the trust reposed on him if he eventually becomes the member House of Representatives in 2023.

He spoke further that Ogun Waterside LG has the prospect of becoming the economy hub center of Ogun State due to abundant resources the local government of aquatic splendor is being blessed with naturally.

The Ijebu East born politician, however, promised to attract more developmental and life touching projects to Ogun Waterside in particular and other two local government areas that made up the federal constituency in general
