OWLG Legislative Council Inaugurated As Mudashiru Calls For Synergy Between Executive And Legislature

Members of Ogun Waterside Local Government Legislative Council have been inaugurated following an order of proclamation for the inauguration of the House by the Chairman of the Local Government , Hon. Adekunle Abdulateef Mudashiru .
In his goodwill message during the inauguration of the Legislative Council in Abigi, headquarters of Ogun Waterside Local Government on Monday, Mudashiru called for a collaborative effort and synergy between the executive arm and the Legislature.
The Local Government boss noted that the responsibility of the Legislature is basically lawmaking, which makes it expedient for laws to be made for the development of the Local Government, enjoining the newly inaugurated members to eschew all acts capable of causing disunity.
“Over the years, Ogun Waterside Local Government Legislative Council has been known for its maturity and I call on you all to contribute your quota by creating a working synergy between the executive and the Legislature, bearing in mind that no meaningful progress and development can take place in an atmosphere of rancour and acrimony, hence the need for cooperation and understanding between the two arms of the Council,” he said.
He expressed his gratitude to the people of the Local Government for given him their mandate, stressing that the support he and all the members of the Legislative Council enjoyed during the electioneering was massive and it is a gesture that must be reciprocated.“Let me thank the almighty God for making this day a reality.
To the peace-loving people of Ogun Waterside, I can’t appreciate you enough for the confidence, trust and support you gave me and the Councillors of our ten political Wards before, during and after the elections that brought us to steer the ship of this Local Government,” he added.
In his remarks after the inauguration , the Leader of Ogun Waterside Local Government Legislative Council, Hon. Felix Ajayi, pledged total commitment towards the development of the Local Government, adding that he and his colleagues in the Legislature will uphold the tenets of democracy and spearhead a harmonious relationship with the executive arm.
The event had in attendance former Council Chairmen, past Members of the Legislature, Party Leaders, Traditional Rulers, representatives of Security Agencies and well-wishers.
