A group known as Ijebu Ode Youth For Good Governance, has called on the Govenor of Ogun state, prince Dapo Abiodun to consider youths for chairmanship and councilorship positions in the local government.
The group revealed that the Ijebu Ode Youth have been short changed in term of appointments since he was been elected as the governor of the state.
The convener of the group, Alhaji Yusuf Oduwole on Monday disclosed this to newsmen in Abeokuta, Ogun state.
Oduwole appealed to the state governor to allow youth to be chairman and councilor at local government level.
He said that the state governor should not discouraged youth from participating in politics, saying that 70percentage of youths participated during the election that emerged Abiodun as the governor.
The group convener said, “we are crying loud to state Governor, prince Dapo Abiodun that we have been short changed in term of appointments, we the Ijebu Ode Youths have been short changed and we are not happy about it.
“The youths played vital role during elections and they should not be relegated, most of the appointments were given to the elders”
”We are appealing to the state Governor to give us chairmanship and councilorship slots so that youths can be encouraged to participate more in politics” He concluded
