Ogun APC Media Committee Unveils Four-Month Media Strategy Ahead of 2027

The Ogun State APC Media Campaign Committee has commenced the development of a comprehensive four-month media and communication strategy as part of preparations for the 2027 general elections.

The strategy was discussed at the committee’s inaugural meeting on Tuesday, September 29, 2026, held through a hybrid physical and Zoom session and chaired by Baaroyin Kayode Odunaro, with the support of Hon. Remmy Hassan, Mr. Kayode Akinmade and Chief Segun Adewale.

The meeting focused extensively on strengthening coordination across mainstream media, new media and social media platforms, with members examining mechanisms for ensuring consistency, accuracy and effective information flow throughout the campaign period.

Members identified the need for clearly defined responsibilities among the various media teams, improved internal communication and a coordinated approach to the development and dissemination of campaign information.

The committee resolved to establish a working structure that will be responsible for the daily review, verification and dissemination of information before publication. Members were also encouraged to verify contested or sensitive information and submit proposed content, ideas and additional media resources through the designated communication platform for appropriate review.

In his presentation, the Communications Consultant and Group Marketing Director stressed the importance of engaging trained journalists and credible media platforms in the campaign’s communication architecture. He also called for greater synergy among the various communication departments to ensure that their activities complement one another.

The meeting further agreed to establish a formal interface among the mainstream media team, new media team and external media agency. The arrangement is intended to improve collaboration, minimise duplication and role conflicts, and ensure that all communication activities remain aligned with the broader objectives of the campaign.

The committee is expected to develop a detailed four-month implementation plan covering content calendars, platform-specific strategies, project milestones and measurable performance indicators. A corresponding budget covering mobility, equipment, content production and other operational requirements will also be prepared for presentation to the Central Working Committee (CWC).

As part of the proposed communication framework, the media campaign will focus on documenting and communicating infrastructure projects, government programmes, empowerment initiatives and other interventions associated with Distinguished Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola (YAYI), while maintaining alignment with the wider communication objectives of the APC campaign.

The committee also emphasised the importance of developing sustainable grassroots communication mechanisms capable of improving community participation, strengthening information dissemination and addressing media-related challenges across local communities.

The resolutions are expected to provide a structured communication framework through which the committee’s various media platforms and personnel can operate with greater coordination, consistency and accountability as preparations for the 2027 election campaign progress.
