The Golden Virtue of Patience – Òtuńba Olaide Emiola Oshifeso
Waiting on God’s Timing
In a world where power and position are often seized through force and fervor, let us not forget the sacred virtue of patience. As the wise saying goes, “good things come to those who wait.” The biblical account of David’s ascension to kingship stands as a testament to the transformative power of patience.
When God rejected Saul, David didn’t resort to schemes or machinations to claim the throne. Instead, he waited patiently for God’s will to unfold, exemplifying the virtues of obedience, loyalty, and trust. David’s patience was the catalyst for his success, and his story serves as a beacon of hope for us all.
As we reflect on our leaders, let us remember that God’s hand is at work, even in the most challenging moments. Let us respect and honor those in authority, trusting that God knows what He’s doing.
Let’s draw inspiration from the exemplary leadership of Aṣíwájú ‘Lékan Mustapha “SLM” CON, The Cicero of Ijebu-Igbo kingdom, who embodies the virtues of patience, humility, and wisdom.
As we celebrate this festive season, let us wait patiently for God’s will to manifest in our lives. May we be like David, trusting in God’s timing and plan. God’s timing is perfect, let’s hold on to faith!
May God bless our leaders and our nation, Nigeria.
