FG Moves To Dualise Ibadan-Ijebu Ode Road

The Federal Government is set to commence the dualisation of the Ibadan-Ijebu Ode Road, a major highway linking Oyo and Ogun states, in a move aimed at improving connectivity and stimulating economic activities across the two states.

The flag-off ceremony is scheduled for Monday, August 24, 2026, at the open field of Legacy Estate, along the Idi Ayunre axis of the Ibadan-Ijebu Ode Road, Ibadan.

The Minister of Works, Senator Dave Umahi, disclosed this in an invitation to the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja, dated August 20, 2026.
According to the minister, the Federal Executive Council (FEC) recently approved the award of the contract for the dualisation of the road to JRB Construction Limited.

Umahi said the project was part of the Federal Government’s Renewed Hope Agenda aimed at improving road infrastructure, enhancing the travel experience for road users and fostering economic growth and sustainability.
The Ibadan-Ijebu Ode corridor is an important transport route connecting Oyo and Ogun states and facilitating movement between Ibadan and the Lagos-Ogun axis.
