Yayi Seeks Ijebu Support, Reaffirms Commitment To Development At GAC, Oloritun Leaders’ Meeting

The governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ogun State, Distinguished Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, CON, FCA (YAYI), has appealed to political leaders and stakeholders in Ijebu Ode Local Government Area to sustain their support for his governorship aspiration, reaffirming his unwavering commitment to the continued development of Ijebuland and Ogun State.

Speaking during an engagement meeting with members of the Governor’s Advisory Council (GAC) and the Olorituns in Ijebu Ode, Senator Adeola expressed appreciation to the Chairman of the Governor’s Advisory Council, Pa Okuboyejo, and acknowledged the longstanding support of respected leaders, including Chief Alausa, Baba Sarunmi, and Baba Anibi. He described the meeting as a continuation of his consultations with critical stakeholders across Ijebuland following his recent engagement with members of the Ijebu Traditional Council.

Senator Adeola described Ijebu Ode as a progressive local government and the traditional headquarters of Ijebuland, stressing that its strategic importance makes it impossible to take the people for granted. He recalled his longstanding relationship with the late Awujale of Ijebuland, Oba Sikiru Kayode Adetona, noting that he consistently worked with and supported the revered monarch throughout his lifetime.

The senator highlighted several developmental interventions he facilitated in Ijebu Ode, including the renovation of the Ojude Oba Pavilion, road infrastructure projects, the provision and energization of electricity transformers, and educational support initiatives. He explained that these interventions were borne out of his genuine love for Ijebuland and were executed long before he emerged as the APC governorship candidate.

He pledged to sustain the momentum of development across the area, emphasizing that the rapid urbanization of Ijebu Ode requires continuous investment in infrastructure and social amenities. He also urged stakeholders to support Governor Dapo Abiodun’s aspiration to represent Ogun East Senatorial District, describing it as essential for sustaining the developmental trajectory of Ogun State.

Appealing for support ahead of the 2027 governorship election, Senator Adeola said his enduring relationship with the people of Ijebuland and his record of service reflected his deep commitment to the region. He called on the people to join hands with him in building a more prosperous and united Ogun State.

Speaking on behalf of the Olorituns, their Chairman, Chief Alausa, pledged the group’s total support for Senator Adeola’s governorship aspiration and appealed for assistance towards securing land and constructing a permanent secretariat for the Olorituns in Ijebu Ode. He also urged members of the association to work diligently for the APC candidate’s victory.

Chairman of the Governor’s Advisory Council, Pa Okuboyejo, assured Senator Adeola of the support of the people of Ijebu Ode, stating that all eleven wards in the local government were firmly behind his governorship aspiration. He also called for the timely appointment of a new Awujale, expressing confidence that Senator Adeola and Governor Dapo Abiodun would continue working together to advance the development, peace, and unity of Ogun State.
