It was a day of joy, colour, and celebration as two families—the families of Alhaji Dalopo & Mrs. Stella Hassan (Namaco) and Elder Emmanuel & Mrs. Elizabeth Awodire—came together to witness and bless the union of their children, Sherifat Tolulope Hassan and Victor Oluwalademi Awodire, in a ceremony filled with happiness.
The wedding festivities began with a vibrant traditional engagement ceremony, where customs and cultural values took centre stage. The families exchanged gifts and formalized their acceptance of the union. A touching moment came when the bride’s sister, Zainab Wuraola Hassan, eloquently read the acceptance letter on behalf of the bride’s family, affirming their approval and support.
Immediately following the engagement, the Nikkah ceremony commenced, solemnizing the marriage according to Islamic rites. The Nikkah included the signing of the marriage certificate by the fathers of both the bride and groom, alongside two witnesses from each family. This sacred event underscored the spiritual foundation upon which the couple’s journey begins.
The celebrations continued with a joyous reception, expertly anchored by popular comedy skit maker Dele Omo Woli Agba, whose humour kept guests entertained throughout. One of the most memorable highlights was the grand entrance of the couple, which saw the entire hall rise to their feet, applauding and cheering the new bride and groom.
Guests were treated to lively music by popular gospel singer Akintoye Akinwande of bright band music, heartfelt speeches, and vibrant dancing. The Chairman of the occasion Dr Kunle Hassan (Namaco) , in his address, advised the couple to always keep God at the centre of their home and to avoid involving third parties in their marital affairs. He concluded with prayers for their successful and fruitful union.
The ceremony also featured the cutting of the wedding cake and the couple’s first dance, a beautiful moment that brought smiles to the faces of all present. The bride’s father offered a touching message of faith, encouraging the couple to remain honest, faithful, and God-fearing. The groom’s father echoed similar sentiments, reinforcing the importance of unity and guarding their home from outside interference.
With love, laughter, and plenty of memories made, the wedding of Sherifat Tolulope and Victor Oluwalademi was not just a union of two people—but a celebration of two families, two traditions, and a future built on faith and love.
Congratulations to the couple!
