Ogun APC Chairman, Yemi Sanusi Bags Top Egba Chieftaincy Title
The State Chairman of All Progressives Congress , APC in Ogun State, Chief Yemi Sanusi has been installed as the 3rd “Asoju Oba” of Egbaland by the Alake of Egbaland, Oba Adedotun Gbadebo.
The installation of the APC State Chairman took place at the palace of Alake of Egbaland , Ake , Abeokuta.
The dignitaries present were the Governor of Ogun State, Prince Dapo Abiodun, the former Governor of Ogun State, Chief Olusegun Osoba, the former Deputy governor , Senator Gbenga Kaka, the former Speaker of the house of representatives, Rt Hon. Dimeji Bankole, Senator Obadara, the Apena of Egba land, Chief Alani Bankole amongst other dignitaries present.
Governor Abiodun in his speech appreciated Oba Adedotun Gbadebo for bestowing the chieftaincy title on Yemi Sanusi, saying that the State chairman deserves the title.
He added that Sanusi has performed wonderfully well as the chairman of the party, adding that he has been a true leader.
Abiodun said” firstly i want to congratulate Our amiable chairman of our great party in Ogun State, Chief Yemi Sanusi on his installation as the Asoju Oba of Egbaland. I want to say that you deserve the title because of your achievements so far as the party chairman. I want to also appreciate the paramount ruler of Egba land, the Alake of Ega land, Oba Adedotun Gbadebo for bestowing the title on us because you have not only honored our chairman but you honor all members of the party.
“I am not surprised by the title bestowed on him because he deserves it. Chief sanusi is a man of honor and loyalty. He is someone who is very dependable and reliable. He has led our party credibly. I do not have a doubt that he will perfom well as Asoju Oba of Egbaland”.
Meanwhile, Chief Yemi Sanusi appreciated the honor, saying that it will motivate and encourage him to do more in promoting unity in Egbaland.
He noted that the chieftaincy title conferred on him was a call to service, assuring that he will contribute immensely to the development of Egbaland .
“I am grateful to the Egba Traditional Council for honouring me with this Chieftaincy title. I want to say this is a call to service and i will not disappoint the people of Egbaland, he concluded.
