Amb. Ola Aina Hands Over Revamped Vocational Center To Empower Yewa North Youth

A grassroots politician and founder of Ola Aina Support, Hon. Amb. Oladayo Aina, has handed over a fully renovated vocational center to the people of Yewa North Local Government Area of Ogun State.

The project, named “Governor Abiodun Vocational Center, was officially commissioned today by the Executive Chairman of the local government, Hon. Olusola Akinbode, held at the local government secretariat in Ayetoro.

The project, which was formerly a dilapidated structure, has been transformed into a functional and inspiring training hub to serve youth, women, and artisans interested in vocational skills such as Adire (tie and dye) Kampala making and many more.

The commissioning ceremony was well-attended by political leaders, party stakeholders, community members, youth groups, which included Chief Joju Fadairo, APC local government party Chairman, Dr.Adekunle Adeosun, Hon. Sunday Kojeku, Hon. Mrs Bukola Omoyayi, Hon. Ibrahim Shaba, Hon. Kayode Abiola, Director of Ministry of Culture and tourism, Mr. Emmanuel Ikwe amongst others.

While speaking at the commissioning, the local government Chairman, Hon. Olusola Akinbode commended Hon. Ola Aina for being a progressive voice and aligning with Governor Dapo Abiodun administration’s vision in youth development.

Hon. Akinbode described Ola Aina as a new breed of politician who keyed into the vision of Dapo Abiodun, which is focused on grassroots empowerment through vocational training.

He said “The local government had already trained over 15,000 individuals in Adire and Kampala making, even without a standard training facility, but with the Governor Abiodun Vocational Center now in place, it would project a massive increase in outreach.”

His words “I appreciate His Excellency, Prince Dapo Abiodun, for giving us the platform to operate as a local government. And I want to use this medium to appreciate Honourable Ola Aina for being a new breed of politician in this generation.”

“Ola Aina keyed into the vision of His Excellency, which is one of our mandates on vocational training.”

“We have been able to train over 15,000 people in Kampala and Adire making, and Ola Aina visited us, he keyed into that vision by renovating one of our dilapidated buildings so that it can be used as the Dapo Abiodun Vocational Centre”.

“This is the first of its kind in this axis of the Yewa North Local Government Secretariat. So, Ola Aina started on a very good note and he should keep the ball rolling.”, Hon. Akinbode concluded.

While speaking on the rationale behind the renovation project, Hon. Amb. Oladayo Aina expressed gratitude for the opportunity to give back to his local government and credited Governor Dapo Abiodun as the inspiration behind the initiative.

According to him “His Excellency Prince Dapo Abiodun, inspired me, the Governor has been empowering people and prioritizing vocational training across the state.”

“I came into the Yewa North Secretariat, saw the poor state of the building, and realized it could be restored and used to uplift our people through skills acquisition.”

Ola Aina therefore thanked Governor Abiodun and the local government Chairman, Dr. Akinbode for given him opportunity to add value to the community.

He said “I want to thank the Chairman of this council, Dr. Olushola Akinbode, for giving me the opportunity to be able to add value. Because some people will just not even let you do it. They will be like, ‘Don’t come and take our shine.’

On his parts, a renowned elder stateman, Chief Joju Fadairo revealed how he personally encouraged Ola Aina to shift his developmental focus from Lagos to his home base in Ogun State.

He said “I encouraged him to come home. He was doing a lot in Lagos, but I told him, ‘If you do it for your people, they will appreciate you, pray for you, and you’ll find fulfillment.

I am happy he listened. What he has done here is just the beginning for the Yewa people, Chief Fadairo said.
