The citizens of Ikala, Ijebu-Imusin, will be in a heroic celebration of Woye Ikala Day come Tuesday, 31st December, 2024.
The celebration is expected to witness the unveiling of the town’s website detailing the historical cultural heritage of Ikala, empowerment of citizens, and grants to the aged in the community.
The high point of the occasion will be the launching of One hundred and fifty million Naira fund for the Completion of Ikala Community Hall.
Dignitaries expected at the grand event are His Excellency Excellency, Senator Justus Olugbenga Daniel, FNSE., the Senator Representing Ogun East as the chief launcher, the Ogun State Head of Service, Mr. Kehinde Onasanya, the Honourable Commissioner of Community Development, Hon. Ademola Balogun and his counterpart for Agriculture and Food Security, Hon. Bolu Owotomo, Hon Wasiu Ifedolapo Owode and Hon.AbdulRasheed Kashamu, Members Ogun State House of Assembly, distinguished members of House of Representatives, Hon. Engr. Folorunso Adegbesan and Hon. Aremo Segun Adekoya as special guests of Honour.
The Royal Fathers of the day includes His Highnesses Oba S.A. Onafowokan, The Oloko of Ijebu Imushin, Oba Engr. Isiaka Ajede, The Ogirimadagbo of Ilodo, Otunbas and Baales in Ijebuland
The event holds on Tuesday, 31st December, 2024, at the Ikala, Ijebu-Imusin community centre, beginning from 12 noon with Otunba (Alhaji) Zadeus Adewale Ahmed, Otunba Madegun of Itele as Chairman of the occasion while Dr Oluwadare Kehinde, chairman, Ijebu East Local Government and chief Dr Fassy Yusuf are special guests of honour.
The Woye Ikala, Otunba Sunday Adewale Okuwobi-Okudero has urged Ikala citizens to come together on this auspicious milestone celebration which has been described as an epochal event with the team -Ikala:forging ahead in unity.
It will be recalled that the youths have engaged in football tournaments with other five neighbouring communities and Medallions will be extended to winners on the 30th December, 2024.
A special interdenominational prayers session will be conducted on Monday, 30th December 2024 to herald the celebration.
