n a two-day celebration of life and legacy, Reverend Fola Achudume, the beloved wife of Apostle Lawrence Achudume and spiritual leader of Victory Life Bible Church (VLBC), was laid to rest.
The ceremony which held at the VLBC Life Cathedral drew dignitaries, religious leaders, and supporters from across Nigeria, all gathered to pay their final respects to a woman who had touched countless lives through her unwavering devotion to God and humanity.
The atmosphere was vibrant yet solemn, with mourners adorned in purple—a color that symbolized Reverend Achudume’s grace, wisdom, and enduring legacy. Among the many high-profile guests was Ogun State Governor Prince Dapo Abiodun, represented by his Deputy, Engineer Noimot Salako-Oyedele. In his tribute, the Governor described Reverend Achudume as a “true ambassador of Christ” whose life embodied grace, strength, and an unyielding commitment to societal progress.
“Reverend Fola Achudume’s devotion to her faith and her selfless service to others remains an inspiration to us all,” Governor Abiodun noted, extending heartfelt condolences to her family and congregation.
Also present at the funeral was Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno. He traveled to Abeokuta to personally honor the woman he described as an “amazon” and a “force for good.” In his eulogy, Governor Eno praised Reverend Achudume’s dedication to empowering women and mentoring young people, noting that her efforts had left a lasting imprint on communities across Nigeria. “Her legacy is a beacon of hope and an example for all of us to follow,” he said.
Adding to the chorus of tributes was the First Lady of Ogun State, Mrs. Bamidele Abiodun, who likened the late Reverend to a “General in God’s army.”

Also, on Wednesday at the tribute service, Pastor Femi Emmanuel of Livingspring Chapel International offered words of comfort to the congregation. He emphasized God’s sovereignty over life and death, assuring mourners that Reverend Fola Achudume’s passing was not a failure but a glorious transition. “We see in part and know in part,” Pastor Emmanuel said. “But we must recognize that this transition is a victory, not a loss.”
Reverend Funke Adejumo, wife of the General Overseer of Agape Christian Ministries, similarly lauded Reverend Achudume for her steadfast faith and devotion to service. “She fought the good fight,” Reverend Adejumo said, praying for her peaceful rest and recognizing the immense impact she had on the lives she touched.
