Photos: Glamour, Excitement As Real Estate Magnate, Omooba Oshoniyi Becomes Otunba Kunusi-Elect
It was a roll call of top echelon of the society and traditional rulers as real estate merchant and businessman, Prince Kazeem Oluwatosin Oshoniyi becomes the Otunba Kunusi-elect of Idokunusi, Ijebu-Imushin in Ijebu-East local government area of Ogun state.
It was all glamour, excitement and cultural reawakening once again at the official introduction and colourful presentation of the Otunba Kunusi-elect to the Magunsen of Itamarun, Ijebu-Imushin, Oba Joseph Abayomi Adefuye Fakoya on Wednesday, November 15 at a well-attended ceremony held at the Oba Magunsen Palace in Itamarun, Ijebu-Imushin.
Prince (CSP) Olugbenga Gabriel Adebanjo rtd, the Head of the Adeshokan Descendants Family who led other family members to the colourful ceremony, chronicled the rational behind the selection of Prince Kazeem Oshoniyi as the Kunusi-elect.
He described Prince Oshinoyi as a credible, worthy, humble, diligent, upright, God – fearing and an illustrious Ijebu son that rightly deserved the revered chieftaincy title.
According to him, the Otunba Kunusi-elect ‘Is someone who is grounded in the culture and traditions of the Idokunusi community’, expressing hopes that he would undoubtedly live to the expectation of his people.
Oba Fakoya who was accompanied to the event by the Alakija of Ikija-Ijebu, Oba and Moyegeso of Itele, Oba (Engr) Mufutau Adesanya Kasali showered encomiums and made Royal declaration of blessings of long life, good health, prosperity, wisdom and understanding on the Otunba Kunusi-elect to enhance success in office and live by the tenets of traditional institutions as propagated by the paramount ruler and Awujale of Ijebuland, Alaiyeluwa, Oba Sikiru Kayode Adetona.
The traditional ruler emphasized to him that the Alaiyeluwa, HRM Oba Adetona as the custodian of Ijebu culture and tradition, is the father of all and is constitutionally empowered to oversee issues of cherished chieftaincy installations in Ijebuland.
Responding, the Otunba Kunusi-elect expressed appreciation to Oba Sikiru Adetona, the paramount ruler and Awujale of Ijebuland, Oba Fakoya, other traditional rulers as well as all sons and daughters of Idokunusi community for making the event a successful one.
