The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) Ogun State Chapter had on Saturday 9th December, 2023 installed an Ambassador of Christ, Amb Raffy Bell and his wife Pastor Mrs Kikelomo Bello as Otun-Asiwaju Onigbagbo and Yeye-Otun Asiwaju Onigbagbo of Ijebuland respectively.
The event which took place at BISI RODIPE HALL GRA Ijebu Ode had in attendance dignitaries from all walks of life from far and near.
Christian leaders from United States of America, Ooni of Ife, notable first class Obas in Ijebuland, wife of former Nigerian President and Asiwaju Onigbagbo of Ogun State, Chief Obasanjo, Bola Obasanjo, former Ogun State governor, Otunba Gbenga Daniel and host of others graced the occasion.
In his remarks, the Ooni of Ife Oba Ogunwusi Ojaja II ably represented by his wife Olori Temitope Ogunwusi harped on religious tolerance, unity and peaceful co-existence in the country.
She stated further that religion should not be seen as tools for promoting division among Nigerians, rather, should be used to promote love and harmony. ” We should be pure to God and ourselves, and work for the progress and development of Nigeria our fatherland” she added.
The chairman of CAN in Ogun State, Bishop Tunde Akinsanya while decorating Bell and his wife urged them to live a Christ-like life and keep the flag flying for Christ and propagate his gospel.
Otunba Gbenga Daniel (OGD) the Ogun East Senator and Asiwaju Onigbagbo of Remoland in his remarks acknowledged the outstanding profile of Amb Bell and his wife Kikelomo Bello, who hail from muslim background to become notable christian leaders in the society. Daniel urged Bell and his wife Kikelomo to use their good office to promote unity in christian community and beyond.
The Otun-Asiwaju Onigbagbo while delivering his speech, expressed his heartfelt appreciation to each and everyone that graced the occasion.
The Otun-Asiwaju Onigbagbo used the occasion to unveil Raffy Bell Foundation (an NGO) co-founded by him and his amiable wife to promote humanitarian services and charitable causes in the society.
The Ambassador of Christ used the occasion to pray and thereafter urged people of different races, colors, languages to be committed to the doctrines of God.
Bell made a handsome donation of two million naira to kickstart the smooth operation of the foundation.
