APC Reschedules Ondo Primary For April 20, Commences Sale Of Forms

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has announced a change in the date of its primary poll for the Ondo State governorship election, moving it from April 25 to April 20.

The decision was disclosed by the APC National Organising Secretary, Suleiman Argungu, during a press briefing in Abuja, citing the need for a smoother process as the reason for the change.

Argungu also stated that the party has informed the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) about the new date. Additionally, he announced that the screening of aspirants will take place on April 11 and 12, while the sale of forms, originally scheduled for April 3 to 10, has been rescheduled to March 27 and April 3.

The first aspirant to obtain the party’s form, Engr. Funmilayo Mary Adekojo, expressed confidence in her chances despite the endorsement of the incumbent governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, by 14 members of the Ondo State House of Assembly.

The endorsement of Governor Aiyedatiwa by the lawmakers took place during their visit to the APC National Chairman, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, at the party’s national secretariat in Abuja on Monday.

Meanwhile, the party has set up a 6-man committee, chaired by Imo State Governor Hope Uzodinma, to unite party members and address issues across the six geopolitical zones.

The committee, inaugurated by APC National Chairman Abdullahi Umar Ganduje on Wednesday, aims to promote progress and unity within the party.
