I started learning fashion design as an undergraduate. I started a fashion business few months after my graduation, I hate the helplessness I felt waiting to be called for an interview or waiting for the employers to call me after the interview.
As a graduate, some of your mates would have opted for a white-collar job, why did you choose fashion ahead of others?
I also thought getting a white-collar job was the best option for me. After waiting for about 4months, I choose to opt for plan B which is fashion designing. At first, it was rough because nobody took me serious including my family. How do I plan to make a living with a #10 000 ready to wear business? That’s the question on people’s lips. It been 5years and I feel this is one of the best decisions I have made, I choose to be responsible for myself.
People see fashion in different ways, what is your own definition of fashion?
Fashion is the art of self-expression to me. It is as old as man himself.
