Adedayo Meets Health Workers, Pledges Support For Health Care Reforms

The executive chairman of Ijebu East LG, Hon Wale Adedayo on Wednesday met with the team of public health workers in his office in Ogbere over the distribution of mosquito/insecticides treated nets. 

The team of health officers were led by Dr Oladipupo Kazeem the Director of Public Health Care who also doubles as the chief medical officer in the local government area. 

According to the meeting held, over one hundred and seven thousand and fifty (107,050) insecticides treated nets (ITN) would be distributed to the residents of the local government area to curb if not totally eradicate the effect of malaria disease. 

The team demanded for the support of the council chairman towards training programme to be held as well as accommodation of the field officers before the distribution of the insecticides treated nets. 

While responding, the council chairman, Hon Wale Adedayo pledged his total support for the smooth distribution of the insecticides treated nets, including all the logistics needed to carry out the programme successfully. 

“We will assist you in the area of public enlightenment and announcement of the programme to the heterogeneous audience across the length and breadth of Ijebu East”. 

“We can as well go to the extent of making such announcement on air at the newly established radio station near us here i.e LION FM, Itamarun Ijebu Imusin.”, Hon Adedayo added. 

The flag-off for the distribution of the over one hundred thousands insecticides treated nets would come up on Thursday 26th August, 2021 at the local government secretariat in Ogbere. 

Speaking further, the council boss noted that he was looking forward towards sorting out how some critical ailments like, cancer, stroke, diabetes etc would be treated in the local government area using alternative medicines/herbs solution, thereby promoting herbal practitioners. 

He also dropped the hints that the local government would host the exhibition of alternative medicine/herbs in the coming year where alternative medicine practitioners would come on board for display of their products. 

In attendance at the meeting were Miss Christine (LGA Coordinator), Mrs Orekoya Adenike (Malaria Focal Person) Chief (Mrs) Ambali (Chief Health Educator) Comrade Adegbenro Taorid (LGA Logistician), Mr Yaya Babatunde (Cluster Supervisor), Mrs Afuwape (LGA Technical Assistant) and Mrs Onalaja (Health Educator) respectively.
