“Dare Alebiosu Remains The Candidate To Beat in Ijebu Ode LG Chairmanship Race”

…Campaign Group Dispels Quit Rumour

The Dare Alebiosu Campaign Group has reacted to a story going viral on the social media that the astute politician, Dare Alebiosu, has stepped down from the chairmanship race of Ijebu Ode local government.

In a statement made available on Tuesday, the group stated that the story was an outright falsehood while declaring that Dare is very much in the race, and is the candidate to beat.

Reacting to the speculation, the group said: “The attention of Dare Alebiosu Campaign Group has been drawn to a piece of rumour spreading on the social media that he has stepped down from the chairmanship race of Ijebu Ode local government.

The cooked up piece also alleged that some party elders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ijebu Ode sometimes back met with Hon Alebiosu and thereafter asked him to drop his ambition.

Ordinarily, we would not have dignified the faceless persons or group behind the Rumour with a response, but knowing fully well that lies when allowed to travel unchallenged may be taken for the truth, we are putting it on record that there is no iota of truth in the story.”

The campaign group added that, Dare, a frontline aspirant whose support base cut across all registered political parties, interest groups and social settings, had met with various young wings, interacted with professional bodies as well as market men and women in Ijebu Ode in furtherance of his desire to serve his people of Ijebu Ode local government.

“It is suffice to add that Dare’s quiet philanthropic gesture is second to none among other contestants for the chairmanship position. Therefore, it baffles ones that while a lot of people are setting agenda for their survival at the beginning of the year, some are busy blackmailling genuine efforts of others and spreading beer parlour gist,” the group noted, while urging the public to” not only disregard the unfounded report, but also be informed that Dare remains unbeatable in the forthcoming election.
