Globacom, Nigeria’s telecommunication operator, has commended the commitment and positive attitude of Nigerian workers as the world commemorates another Workers’ Day on May 1, 2020.

Globacom affirmed that the doggedness of the Nigerian worker has contributed immensely toward keeping the Nigerian economy and the ship of state running in spite of gruelling challenges over the years.

The telecommunications service provider mentioned the harsh global economic realities and difficult work conditions as some of the challenges the Nigerian worker had had to endure. Added to this, it said, are the Coronavirus pandemic, otherwise known as COVID-19, and the subsequent shutdown of the global economy to contain the scourge.

The company urged workers to remain positive, adding that this is the time they need to sustain the can-do spirit and perseverance, which they have always demonstrated.

In the message to the workers, Globacom further encouraged them to see this year’s celebration as a time to reaffirm their faith in the Creator to see them through the trying period. “As you join your counterparts across the world to celebrate yet another Workers’ Day, Globacom wishes to congratulate you for being undeterred by the challenges workers face all over the world. We salute your courage, resilience, and can-do attitude, and urge you to use the occasion to rededicate yourselves to the social and economic development of our dear nation”, the statement added.

Globacom promised to continue to offer innovative and value-added products and services to support workers in the public and private sectors in delivering services to Nigerians in all spheres of life, and more so to help them work from home as has become the new normal in our evolving world.
