The National President, Amalgamated Commercial Motorcycle Owners And Riders Association Of Nigeria (ACOMORAN), Alhaji Prince Adebayo S. Apelogun has urged Christians to project Christianity through good examples of love, tolerance and peaceful disposition at all times.
He made this known in his Lent message issued this morning in his country home Sagamu stressing that such virtues were prerequisite for protecting the perception of Christianity from distortion.
Apelogun congratulated Christians faithful on the successful commencement of their 40 days and nights, and urged that the events of the period should reinforce the fear of God in the hearts of believers. He advised Christians to sustain the virtues of the sacrifice beyond the Lent period.
“The fasting period makes believers appreciate the impact of hunger and be more committed to the hardship of millions who cannot feed themselves.” He called on fellow Christians to show greater commitment to peace, unity and tolerance in order to create harmony and understanding in the country.
He added that unity is a condition for building a formidable nation, without unity, a country is politically vulnerable. Furthermore, he said, with the absence of peace, even religion would be hard to practice. In all, he advised that citizens not take peace for granted.
“Leadership is about service to the people and there are numerous examples in the tradition of Jesus Christ and his followers like Andrew, Peter, James and John who left their comfort zones in the fishing line to feel the hardship of the poor in the society.
