The Olu of Ilaro and paramount ruler of Yewaland, Oba Kehinde Olugbenle has said that the immediate past governor of Ogun State, Senator Ibikunle Amosun has bastardized Obaship in the State
He also described the installation and appointment of some Obas by Amosun as unwelcomed development in Ogun State.
The chairman of committee which was set up by Dapo Abiodun disclosed this to the newsmen at governor’s office Okemosan, Abeokuta.
”The institution has been bastardized by the last regime led by senator Ibikunle Amosun. The number of 1st Class Obas is nothing to write home about”
”The Paramount Rulers led by the Awujale of Ijebuland , Obas Dr Sikiru Adetona tried their best to advise the immediate former governor on why Obas should not be compensated with promotion even as earlier done by former governors but the governor did not heed to their advice”
”I am promising the governor that the committee will not leave any stone unturned and make appropriate recommendations where necessary”
”We know the appointment and promotion of the traditional rulers which was done by the last government has since generated a lot of mixed reactions by the public and there is need to address the issues”
