The Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun has assured of bringing succour to residents of areas affected by flood in Abeokuta, the state capital and provide lasting solution to the recurring disaster.
Abiodun, who gave the assurance while addressing residents of Odo-Gbangba, Isale-Oja Kuto and Ijeja, said he decided to come personally with the new Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Olakunle Oluomo and other Lawmakers, to see the extent of damage caused by the flood.
He noted that it was improper for the people to vote for a government and be left alone to suffer from natural disasters, calling on the people to remain calm, with an assurance that the affected areas would be attended to very soon.
The Governor however called on the residents to help themselves make the drainages and waterways free by desisting from dumping refuse into the water ways.
