The former governor of Ogun State, Otunba Gbenga Daniel has urged the Ogun State governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun to ensure he probes the immediate past governor of Ogun state, Senator Ibikunle Amosun over the cost of projects during his administration
Daniel disclosed this on Sunday when the Heritage club of Ijebu hosted Abiodun at the Awujale’s palace in Ijebu Ode.
He alleged that the cost of projects during Amosun’s administration is 20 times higher to the amount he spent on the same projects when he was governor.
He however described many of Amosun’s projects as misplaced priorities that doesn’t tally with the need of the people.
Our past governor constructed visible roads and bridges though, at exhaubitant prices, sometimes value 20 times cost more the price some of us did the same.
”I cannot see the difference in quality that this road should warrant a cost of twenty times more”
”I therefore think that in the interest of the new government, it might be inevitable to look into some of this abnormalities”
”Regrettably, it is the fact that some of the bridges are misplaced priorities as there are no traffic to justify some of dual-carriages ways, and that may not be in the forseable future”
”I have seen the plan of the housing complete with road network and street light without a single house”
”I have seen a pedestrian bridge full air conditioned in a place where there is no human traffic”
”I have also seen mega schools costing the State of 260billion naira, but, most inhabitable and in a wrong location”
The list is endless, if those same amount were utilized in doing internalroads and new roads even in the same location, the economic part would have been enormous in those location”
He submitted that it is inevitable for the present government to look into the alleged atrocities committed by the immediate past governor so as to know where to begin.
