A young housewife based in Ijebu Ode area of Ogun state has fled her marital home to an unknown destination following the sudden death of her first daughter, Fausat Adenike Anifowose in a controversial circumstance, Ijebu News Xtra can reliably inform.
It was reliably gathered that the bereaved lady, Mrs Muibat Jolaade Anifowose who is in her mid-30s allegedly left home recently aftermath of an unresolved difference with her husband and father in law.
According to our source, Jolaade and her estranged husband had met years back at the Tai Solarin University of Education, Ijagun via Ijebu Ode as students.
The relationship between the duo, though did not enjoy the approval of the father in-law but according to findings they proceeded with the wedding without the father in-law’s consent. The marriage later produced two daughters who were living with their parents as at then.
However, trouble started when they visited the father in-law during a festive season in a bid to convince him to lend weight to their union and also see their grand-children for the first time. The elderly man who was initially hostile, later changed his mind when he was prevailed upon by family members.
It was further scooped that unknown to the lady, her father in law had perfected a plan to circumcise the two daughters, an alien tradition which was reported to be common within the said family.
As fate would have it, this magazine gathered that Jolaade’s husband, Babatunde allegedly took his first daughter, Fausat Adenike Anifowose to his parent’s house in preparatory for the circumcision. A source in the know revealed that the Babatunde must have acted on the belief that any male child of the family extraction, who refuses to bring his daughter for such rite would be cursed, and eventually go insane.
The innocent gal was thereafter circumcised and taken to an unknown place.
Ijebu News Xtra magazine crime correspondent reported that the few year’s old gal later bled to death due to excessive loss of blood while the circumcision lasted.
Mrs Anifowose from what we found out later fled her house in company of the second child in order to avoid same fate which befell her sister to happen to her.
Meanwhile, latest information has it that there has been a messy fight between Mrs Jolaade and her husband family, with the former threatening to institute a legal action against the family.
The source added that the case has since been reported to one of the divisional police stations in Ijebu Ode, while the body of the deceased has been deposited at the morgue.
